Have you ever wondered what your family history is? Do you know nothing beyond your parents or grandparents names? Well the Family History Group can help you find out more. As long as you have a laptop or tablet you can bring along to meetings we can help you dive into the past. You will be surprised, amazed, amused and eager to delve deeper. In fact I would go as far as to say you will soon become addicted to researching your family.
The group meets in the Lavender room at the Council offices in Ramsey at 2 p.m. on the second Monday of every month except August. We have a mix of beginners and experienced researchers so there is always someone to support/assist those less experienced in researching their Family History. Usually there is some tuition and/or discussion on a genealogy subject, brick wall or interesting finding but there is also time for private research. One to one tuition can also be provided separately from the group meetings.
We have a private Facebook Group which is only available to members of Ramsey & District u3a Family History Group and it is not visible to anyone outside that group. Genealogy tips and updates, funny cartoons relating to Family History and lots more genealogy based information is posted there by the Group Leader and other members of the group.
Tea/coffee and biscuits are provided at the meeting and we usually have a summer get together in a member's garden in July.
What is holding you back? Still not sure? Contact me via the link above and I will happily talk through all your Family History concerns.
