Itinerary
- Day 1 - Travel to Swansea
- We drive from Ramsey to the Mercure, Swansea.
- Day 2 – Swansea, Mumbles and Gower Heritage Centre
- Today, we will be taken by coach along the picturesque Victorian resort of Mumbles to get to know this well-known seaside resort before heading to the Gower Heritage Centre. Here we will learn all about the ‘Gower Peninsula an Area of Outstanding Beauty.’ We will then be joined on the coach by a guide for a guided tour of the Gower Peninsula revealing ancient sites, monuments and castles.
- Day 3 – National Botanic Garden of Wales
- Today we visit the National Botanic Garden of Wales. Opened 25 years ago, the garden is a fascinating blend of the modern and the historic. At its heart is the Great Glasshouse, the world’s largest single-span glasshouse, a remarkable tilted glass dome designed by Norman Foster and Partners architects. Inside a Mediterranean landscape is dominated by the six-metre-deep ravine and rock terraces and sheer faces are cut by streams and waterfalls.
- Day 4 – Cardiff
- This morning, we take time to explore the National Museum of Cardiff. There is so much to see in the art galleries, sculpture and natural history exhibitions. The Museum has a café and a restaurant if you choose to eat within the Museum or you may wish to stroll into the city centre and find a lunch spot with your fellow members of the group. There is free time in the afternoon in Cardiff before rejoining the coach and return to the hotel Mercure Swansea.
- Day 5 - Travel home.
- After breakfast, we make our way back to Ramsey.
