On the 19th April 2011, the inaugural meeting of the Ramsey and District u3a took place at the Ramsey Community Centre. Seventy people attended the meeting, which was opened by June Welton who was the Education & Development Officer for Huntingdon u3a and had suggested the possibility of forming a u3a in Ramsey.
June explained that a steering group would be in place for the first year, followed by an election at the end of the first year for the various posts on the committee. The Steering Committee for that first year consisted of eleven members.
Fifteen years later, April 2026, the membership stands at 236 and the initial 9 interest groups have grown to 32.
